Well, it’s the same for the lime kilns at Halkyn.
For decades these illustrious kilns – wedged onto the side of a hill have been firing lime which has gone into the great buildings which surround us.
Now dis-used they form a significant part of our industrial landscape and it is quite just and right that they are being conserved as a critical part of our built heritage.
How lovely it is to see them being cared for by our skilled tradesmen – giving the kilns a bit of its own medicine lime mortar pointing
Grosvenor were principal contractors on the site and organised a complex conservation programme for the kilns.
